Annual Report 2020
2020 has been an exceptional and unusual year in a number of ways. But it has also once again demonstrated the strength and agility of the Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur Group, thanks to the way our airports complement each other and the dedication of our teams in ensuring the continuity of the public service we provide.
When Storm Alex hit our valleys, and after our affected infrastructure was restored to operational status, Cannes Mandelieu Airport upheld its promises as an SDIS (departmental fire and rescue service) base, while Nice Côte d’Azur Airport was transformed into an air base to come to the aid of the victims, receive them, and provide them with basic necessities.
The airport group also demonstrated its significance in responding with agility and precision to the different needs of the Côte d'Azur, and its visitors, businesses, and residents when the pandemic struck.
The airports remained operational to ensure the continuity of our public service and in particular to enable medical transport missions. The transformation of our infrastructure in response to new public health guidelines, such as the construction of a testing centre in record time, enabled us to limit the risk of spreading the virus and reassure passengers, allowing the progressive return of air traffic and the maintenance of the attractive and dynamic nature of the region.
This annual report is therefore historic, presenting both the measures taken to increase the operational performance and the environmental responsibility of our airports, and those carried out to protect the health of our passengers. Being the airport of the future means just that: being high-performing, safe and responsible. This is our goal and our commitment, and this report takes that into account.
