Following a call for tenders launched in September 2023, France's second-largest airport has selected the operators and brands that will manage the 28 retail outlets at the heart of its three commercial and business aviation terminals. The new outlets will open gradually between 2025 and 2026. They illustrate the strategy of offering its millions of passengers a unique experience, a blend of tranquility, well-being, local expertise and luxury à la française.
For its new participation in the Fête de l'Aviation (Aviation Festival), a national event taking place on 28 and 29 September, Cannes Mandelieu airport and its partners are offering the general public and local schools a wide range of activities to discover the professions, aircraft, training and innovations. It's sure to put stars in the eyes of young and old alike.
The Airports for Innovation network is made up of ten leading international airport operators. Nearly 800 million passengers are managed by the network and consequently involved in the innovation initiatives.
The global airport alliance launches today a joint open innovation program to foster collaboration with startups.
Passenger traffic in July and August 2024 grew by 3.7% compared to the same period in 2023, while the number of aircraft movements rose by just 2%. Thanks to a record number of 13 long-haul routes, the airport has fully played its role as a gateway to the region for foreign visitors via direct flights to and from the French Riviera.

The partnership between the airport and the charity founded by the late humourist and comedian Coluche was launched as a trial in March 2022 and extended to 2023. The first of its kind in France, this initiative, which has since inspired other airports, enables passengers to donate products banned from the cabin to Les Restos du Cœur charity. The partnership has just been renewed for several years.
