The Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur group, which has continually been striving to improve its environmental policy for more than 20 years, has taken an essential new step towards achieving its goal of full net zero emissions, without any offset, by 2030. The award of the new Airport Carbon Accreditation level 4+ certifies the reduction of the absolute value of the Group’s emissions, while the Golfe de Saint-Tropez airport has already become the first airport in France in a position to claim net zero, without any offsetting.
Tuesday 14 September 2021 will go down in history as the day when, for the first time, a Head of State - HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco - flew on a 100% electric plane. This stage in the aviation industry’s efforts to fly without emitting CO2 is in line with the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
To pursue its strategy for the renewal of its commercial and service offer to provide its passengers with a travel experience that is always unique and surprising, the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is launching a call for tenders to renew three of its pop-up stores. Located in Terminals 1 and 2 of France's second-busiest airport, they will benefit from significant flows of high-income passengers, combined with predominately international exposure.
In recognition of the efforts made by the operator of this airport in the Var department, the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has issued it with its Safety 1st Clean certification. Across dozens of criteria, it covers all of the health recommendations established by the public authorities and represents the best practices in the sector.
Updated 12/07/2021 - As of 21 July, and for a temporary period that will not extend beyond 7 September, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport will partially reopen Terminal 1. This measure is intended to support enhanced health checks for certain international flights, while maintaining the quality of service provided to passengers.
The exceptional geographical location of the Nice Côte d'Azur airport means it is regularly subject to extreme wind shear. Now it benefits from one of the most powerful lidars in Europe, acquired by Météo France from Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. This new system complements our existing observation system and improves aircraft and passenger safety.
Air travel is poised to take off again this summer, with a flight schedule including 11 new routes and 2 new destinations, Menorca and Southampton, and - provided borders are open again - the return of the first long-haul flights to New York and Dubai. This upsurge underscores the attractiveness and vitality of the French Riviera, and confirms the health safety strategy put in place by the airport to create the reassuring conditions which airlines and their passengers expect.
