Cote d'Azur Airports (ACA) and DGAC (the French civil aviation authority) have signed a framework cooperation agreement on security. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is the first in France to commit to the DGAC's VISION SÛRETÉ programme.

Faced with an accumulation of increasingly tight and costly measures, VISION SÛRETÉ aims to improve the screening of passengers and hand luggage. The goal is to promote innovation in the field of passenger security screening through operational projects exploring new technical and organisational solutions.
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport will be testing in its terminals the innovative passenger screening mechanisms designed to:

  • raise safety levels by promoting the use of strong screening solutions that simplify operations;
  • optimise passenger screening management and control costs;
  • implement a screening system promoting passenger comfort and safety.

A series of tests will be implemented in Nice Cote d'Azur airport terminals 1 and 2 from October 2014 until end 2015. These novel systems will be rolled out during 2016, depending on the test results and feedback.

Through the deployment of these operational projects, DGAC and ACA wish to make passengers' interests one of the key concerns of the security system.
The Pégase Competitiveness Centre, which supports the aerospace industry in the Provence-Alpes -Côte d'Azur region, will play an important role in identifying innovative local businesses to take part in this collaboration.
