Two months after opening its installations in its Ibiza FBO, Sky Valet has won the AENA tenders for the Madrid and Barcelona business terminals. This renewed confidence in the quality of the services provided strengthens the development of Sky Valet in Europe, and its leading position on the Spanish market.

Following calls for tenders by the Spanish airport manager AENA, Sky Valet has won one of the two FBO contracts for Madrid (on 31 October) and the contract for Barcelona (on 13 November).

“By awarding us the Madrid and Barcelona FBO contracts, AENA is acknowledging our expertise and renewing its confidence in our ability to boost the attractiveness of these two destinations, via a competitive pricing policy and the service quality standards that underpin Sky Valet’s reputation”, announced Michel Tohane, Executive VP of Sky Valet and Director of the General Aviation BU of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group.

These new contracts offer Sky Valet visibility over a minimum of 5 years, which the brand will harness to pursue its upselling strategy, particularly with the aim of getting IS-BAH certification for these two FBOs. They will benefit from expertise used to benefit the whole network, including the Cannes-Mandelieu FBO. Cannes-Mandelieu was the first FBO in France and the third in the world to obtain this certification, which recognises the excellent standard of ground handling services provided to passengers.

At the end of October 2018, the Madrid business aviation terminal recorded 4,200 movements since 1 January, with an expected 5,000 movements by end of the year. The Barcelona business aviation terminal recorded 2,500 movements, with a target of 2,800 by 31 December.

Sky Valet has 22 destinations, divided between France (Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Paris-Le Bourget), Spain (Girona, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Ibiza, Malaga, Madrid, La Coruña and Santiago de Compostela) and Portugal (Porto, Cascais, Lisbon, Beja, Faro, Madeira and the Azores). The network is also present in Italy and Bulgaria, via the Sky Valet Connect label.
