On Wednesday 17 April 2019, Nice-Côte d’Azur airport welcomed the first Aer Lingus direct flight from Cork in Ireland. In honour of this event, passengers on flight EI826 were welcomed with a distribution of confectionery and small gifts bearing the Aer Lingus’ image.

The seasonal connection between Nice and Cork, which had previously operated until 2014, runs twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft with 174 Economy Class seats. The outward flight EI827 took off from Nice-Côte d’Azur airport at 21:50 and landed in Cork at 23:40 local time. The return flight departed at 18:00 and arrived in Nice at 21:35.

Passengers can now get to Cork in less than 3 hours, allowing them to discover the charms of south-west Ireland until 23 October 2019.

Commenting on the relaunch of the Nice-Cork flight, Ruth Ranson, Director of Communications for Aer Lingus, stated that: “We are delighted to launch a new direct connection between Nice and Cork, and to offer passengers of Aer Lingus the chance to discover the treasures of south-west Ireland. This new opening also contributes to the rise of Cork and its region as a major tourist destination for French visitors.”

Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Board of Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, added that: “This new destination and the return of Aer Lingus to our platform demonstrate our constant dynamism and our drive to always keep strengthening our international network, to benefit locals and visitors from all over the world, with direct connections or via our self-connecting service.”

Nice-Cork tickets are available on the Aer Lingus website (www.aerlingus.com) from €95 return incl. tax.
