EVERYTHING COMES IN THREES

Snow covered the tarmac at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport for the third time in the last 20 years: 6 February 1991, 22 February 2005 and 11 February 2010.

LIGHT AIRCRAFT HANGAR INAUGURATED

Cannes Mandelieu Airport officially inaugurated Hangar 14, covering 3,200m² including 2,200m² for aircraft parking and 1,000m² for offices and maintenance.

DESTINATIONS RECORD

The summer season at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport saw a top record 103 scheduled destinations served by 55 airlines.

EYJAFJÖLL

The Icelandic volcano, which paralysed European skies for several days, affected traffic at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport: 1,384 flights were cancelled, with a loss of 150,000 passengers.

PLAISIRDEPARTIR.COM: NEW PACKAGE

Improvements to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport’s travel website mean journeys can now be selected and managed directly over the Internet.

NAMA SUBSIDIARY CREATED

“Côte d'Azur Airports” now has its own airport engineering subsidiary, Nice Airport Management (NAMA), to sell its know-how to an international market.

18th May

1st PHASE OF THE CAR RENTAL CENTRE DELIVERED

Hertz and Avis-Budget moved into the 1st phase of the Centre.The finished centre will provide rental companies with 60,000m2 to deal with the airport’s 450,000 rental contracts a year.

25TH AFRICA-FRANCE SUMMIT

“Côte d'Azur Airports” hosted 52 heads of state and fifty delegations in complete safety and security.

4-6 June

4th EUR-AVIA SHOW

This year’s show at Cannes Mandelieu Airport attracted 8,000 visitors and nearly 350 brands and exhibitors, confirming its international status.

11th June

NEW LOGO LAUNCHED

The new logo is a stylised palm tree in blue and green representing the sea and sustainable development. "Côte d'Azur Airports" finally has a face: a modern, dynamic, regional and environmentally aware company.

14th June

AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH ACNUSA

On 14 June Cannes Mandelieu Airport and its partners on the Environment Consultative Committee validated the airport’s new environmental charter with forty planned actions to control the impact of aviation on the Cannes basin.
An agreement was signed with ACNUSA (Airport Nuisances Control Authority) which is committed to ensuring the effectiveness of the Environmental Charter.

16th July

OFFICE CENTRE OPENED

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has 750m2 of additional office space since the opening of the new three storey building, housing Formation d’Air France, premises for airport handling companies, and services for business aviation customers.

24th July

FIRST PHASE OF THE P6 CAR PARK OPENED

On 24 July the P6 car park, on the edge of Terminal 2, received its first vehicles. 1,450 parking spaces have been created, nearly of them reserved for airport staff.

18-22 October

RENEWAL OF QUALITY, SECURITY, ENVIRONMENT (QSE) CERTIFICATION

“Côte d'Azur Airports” QSE, ISO 9001/14001and OHSAS 18001 certifications were renewed following an audit by AFNOR Certifications.
This year, certification was extended to include Nice Airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Services and Cannes Airport’s light aviation activities.

5th November

NICE WELCOMES CHINA

Airport staff made an all out effort to welcome the president of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Jintao, and French president, Nicolas Sarkozy.

24th November

NEW NICE-DOHA ROUTE

At the end of November Qatar Airways started a new Nice-Doha connection, via Milan, with three flights a week. With 90 destinations it is one of the world’s fastest growing airlines.

14th December

The lively interface of the new website offers a range of on-line services, enhanced multimedia content and real time updates.
