CAR RENTAL CENTRE
Nice airport has the position of largest car hire centre in France to defend. A new building is underway. The first stone was laid on 15th May.
PROSPECTIVE DEVELOPMENT MEETING
Nice airport and ALFAACI organised the meeting in Nice during which “Cross perspectives on air transport in 2025” were discussed in view of proposing a long-term outlook on aviation.
2ND ENTERPRISE FORUM
The forum united representatives from 120 companies who met with managers and technicians from the Technical Services Consultancy Management, purchasing, operations and legal affairs sections.
AÉROPORTS DE LA CÔTE D’AZUR FOUNDATION
The Foundation provides financial support in favour of the elderly, access to culture, training and occupational integration of young people etc. Projects must be backed by Nice and/or Cannes-Mandelieu airport residents’ associations, or by employees.
The Slovenian low cost airline went bankrupt in June. The company flew from Nice to Vienna 5 times a week.
JET FUEL CASE
In 2007, the tribunal correctionnel of Nice discharged the oil companies sued for illegal operations and causing danger to others and Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, sued for complicity in illegal operations. The Court of Appeal of Aix en Provence confirmed the discharge in September.
The first airport in France to offer the Wi-Fi, Nice now offers free access in both terminals. Customers can connect in just a few clicks from their laptop, PDA or Smartphone.
PLANE CRASH DRILL
Nice airport simulated a BritishAirways plane crash shortly after takeoff. The ORSEC plan and Plan rouge were tested, mobilising firemen, gendarmes, police and airport staff.
A new electric power house was installed in the old Aircraft Fire Prevention and Rescue Service (SSLIA) building following renovations containing eight 2.5 megawatt electric generators and two 60,000 litre buried tanks.
With the creation of the Airport Society, Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur needed a multidisciplinary project to build its identity and future. The objective: Express collective values, vision and ambition. We wished this to be a participative approach and the project was summarized in an official white paper.
TECHNICAL SERVICES CENTRE
The technical centre was inaugurated on 11th December. The premises were built according to environmental quality standards and accommodate engineering and technical teams.
Negotiations held in 2009 led to the signature of the company-wide agreement, complementing the collective ground staff agreement. 17 December - TAKE-OFF PROCEDURE REINSTATED - The initial take-off procedure to the East was re-established according to flight safety procedures.
