Nice Côte d'Azur Airport presents its new 2016 summer collection: a selection of 107 destinations reaching out directly to all of Europe, and now expanded to the far North, the Mediterranean, North America and the Middle East.

Whether with medium- or long-haul direct flights from Nice, the platform continues to grow its network to include new destinations with high appeal for both its tri-national catchment area –Italy, through Monaco to Provence– and its international clientele.

Key figures for summer 2016:
  • 107 destinations
  • 62 scheduled airlines
  • 37 countries served
  • 15 new routes

This summer, a 2 to 3% increase in seating capacity will accompany the growth of the area's summer tourist activity, with new services for both leisure and business travel.

Further, 4 routes will be strengthened: Athens with Aegean, Palma de Mallorca with easyJet, Rennes and Strasbourg with Voloteaare additions to the new summer routes. Meanwhile, service will resume toTallinn in Estonia with a new airline, Nordic Aviation, and to Tunis with Nouvelair Tunisie.

The depth of the network out of Nice Côte d'Azur airport will make it possible for football fans tofly directly to attend the UEFA's prestigious EURO championships in June.Indeed, the citizens of each of the countries concerned will be able to attend the 4 matches scheduled in Nice.

All these new services fall under the Contrat de Compétitivité Territoriale (regional competitiveness compact) launched last June, by which the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group proposed tolower its winter aeronautical fees* by 2.5% from November 2016 for the scheduled commercial aviation. These fees will be subsequently frozen for at least 9 years, confirming the Group's commitment to competitiveness, firstly to benefit its area, but also its client companies, both current and future.

For Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Board of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group,"Our mission at the service of our area is to contribute to the development of direct connections!"

For Didier Monges, Operations and Airline Marketing Director, "The 107 destinations on offer this summer, a record figure, make not only all of Europe accessible without stopovers from Nice, but also the Middle East and North America. In fact, to complement the growth by Delta Air Lines of its service to New York this winter, Air Canada also increases its frequencies to Montreal this summer. This initiative can only enhance our region's appeal."
