Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur: JCDecaux France wins the Call for bids on airport advertising

Published on 19-05-16

Groupe Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur has decide to partner with JCDecaux France for a period of 10 years beginning January 2017 regarding the supply, implementation and operation of advertising media in the Nice, Cannes Mandelieu, Saint-Tropez and Sky Valet Paris-Le Bourget airports.

JCDecaux France won the contract for the management of advertising space inherent to Terminals 1 and 2 of the Nice Côte d’Azur airport, and those specific to general aviation at the Nice, Cannes Mandelieu, Saint Tropez and Sky Valet Paris-Le Bourget airports. The street furniture of the Cannes Mandelieu airport will be managed by a local firm, Pisoni.

JCDecaux France’s proposal that reflected current concerns won over Groupe Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur due to its “less is more” aspect that proposed to streamline circulation areas (freed up ground space, fewer advertising media), unify an all-digital offering, modernize and innovate in terms of media selected (spectacular screens, full HD digital touchscreens etc.)

This new stage marks another high point in the series of calls for bids launched at the end of 2014 to entirely renew the foundation of the commercial offering of the airport of tomorrow.

This call for bids is part of the terminal overhaul program in progress at the Nice Côte d’Azur airport with two ambitions: Expand and renew the fit-out of commercial areas and boarding lounges, and the centralized security control areas in order to offer passengers increased simplicity and comfort. All of this is structured around the composition of a new commercial offering, one of the most surprising in a European airport.

After the overhaul in progress of our terminals, including that of Terminal 1 which is ready for delivery, this important decision marks a new stage in the implementation of a commercial offering that reflects our territory, around an aesthetic and contemporary communication system in line with the optimization of our passengers’ experience. With its 77 digital screens, Nice Côte d’Azur becomes the most digitized airport in France, facilitating flows for the greater comfort of our passengers, thanks to a streamlined, modern system that blends perfectly with the architecture of our airport. The new commercial and advertising offering in its entirety raise us to European standards” underscores Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.

For Filip Soete, Director of the Commercial Business Unit, “We have decided to work with the best advertising operator by selecting an ambitious proposal. The aim is to offer passengers quality advertising locations and media, for the most part digital, capable of entertaining them as they pass through the airport, while incorporating these items into the architecture of the buildings. Our mutual objectives reflect the desire to offer more legible advertising whose integration in the terminals is improved for a new path offered to our passengers, in line with our vision of offering them the most surprising commercial experience in Europe!”...
